Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth.

Teeth may need to be extracted for any number of reasons. Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed, while other teeth may have advanced periodontal disease, or have broken in a way that cannot be repaired.

With bone grafting we now have the opportunity to not only replace bone where it is missing, but we also have the ability to promote new bone growth in that location. This gives us a chance to restore functionality and aesthetic appearance.

An impacted tooth means that it is “stuck” and cannot erupt into function. The most commonly impacted teeth are wisdom teeth. However, any tooth in the mouth can become impacted and steps may be taken to try to bring the tooth into function.

If you do not have enough room in your mouth for your third molars to fully erupt, several problems can happen. Impacted wisdom teeth should be removed before their root structure is fully developed.

An anti-aging procedure performed only by the surgeon with benefits such as improvement of skin texture, wrinkles, active acne, acne scars, undereye circles, sun damage, rosacea, deep surgical scars, burns, stretch marks and eliminating or improving eczema on the skin.

The preparation of your mouth before the placement of a prosthesis (e.g.: denture) is referred to as pre-prosthetic surgery. Some patients require minor oral surgical procedures before receiving a partial or complete denture in order to ensure the maximum level of comfort.

Several methods of anesthesia are available. The method of anesthesia that is chosen for or by a patient depends upon the nature of the surgical procedure and the patient’s level of apprehension.

The inside of the mouth is normally lined with a special type of skin (mucosa) that is smooth and pink in color. Any alteration in this appearance (a “lesion”) could be a warning sign for a pathological process. The most serious of these is oral cancer.

IV (intravenous) sedation, also known as conscious sedation, is a form of anesthesia for patients who are nervous and/or want to be asleep for the surgery. During your consultation appointment, the doctor will evaluate your medical history to determine if you are a candidate for IV sedation in the office.

In addition to two dimensional digital radiography, we offer an advanced imaging modality known as cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). CBCT is a three dimensional scan of the jaw and teeth which provides a level of anatomical accuracy not possible with 2-D technologies.
