Tooth Extraction
Common Reasons for Tooth Extraction
Teeth may need to be professionally extracted for a variety of critical reasons to protect your overall oral health. Extractions are often necessary when teeth are severely decayed, affected by advanced periodontal disease, or broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Additionally, teeth that are poorly positioned in the mouth—such as impacted wisdom teeth—or those that require removal in preparation for orthodontic treatment are carefully extracted by our surgical team.

Understanding the Extraction Process
Your comfort and safety are our highest priorities during any surgical procedure. At the time of your extraction, the doctor will thoroughly numb your tooth, the surrounding jawbone, and your gums using a local anesthetic. While you will feel significant pressure from the firm rocking motion used to widen the socket for removal, you will not feel any pain. In certain cases, a small, specialized dental drill is also used to safely and efficiently get the tooth out.

Advanced Sedation for Your Comfort
We understand that the prospect of oral surgery can cause anxiety for many patients. If you are nervous about your upcoming extraction or simply prefer to be completely asleep during the surgery, intravenous (IV) sedation is readily available. Our team is dedicated to providing a stress-free environment, ensuring your experience is tailored to your specific emotional and physical needs.
